Product Description

SXRD¿ Chips --- SXRD technology is the latest display technology developed by the legendary television engineers at Sony to meet and exceed the demands of a High Definition image at its full 1080 line resolution. Digitally transmitted High Definition signals can contain over 2 million individual detail points that need to be displayed accurately and rapidly. SXRD displays those 2 million detail points per SXRD panel accurately since the 3 SXRD chips actually contain enough pixels to fully display a 1080 line picture without interlacing it. SXRD has the speed to create a smooth, film like image. The SXRD chips have a blistering response time (less than 5ms total rise and fall time), which exceeds the demands of even the most rapidly moving High Definition images. And SXRD creates highly accurate, natural colors because the 3-chip design displays all the colors, all the time.

4Excellent Television
By Mr. Grant
I bought this TV back at the end of May, and I have thoroughly enjoyed having it. Picture wise, I think it outclasses any RPTV on the market right now. Standard Def is acceptable, while HD is unbelievable. I also hook up my PC through the HDMI input and that looks amazing as well. The VGA PC hookup is worthless and Im not sure why Sony wasted there time putting it there if you arent going to allow 1920 X 1080 resolution. The only real drawback for me is that there are only 2 HDMI inputs. Im already using both so if I purchase a Blu Ray, that means the cable box will be going to component. Unfortunately component doesnt accept 1080P on this tv. However the A2000 and A2020 are really last years technology so for the price its still a great deal. So to summarize, if this TV had 3 HDMIs or component accepted 1080P it would be great. But I have to knock it a star because of those factors.

4Great Picture Great Versatility Average Sound
By Al
I replaced an older Sony rear projector to get HD. Everything is similar, and up to Sony standards. The picture is great, and the set is capable of 8 inputs. I can't talk about tuner performance, because I'm running directly from a DirecTv HD receiver via HDMI. The sound is not very good, however. If you are serious about listening quality, you should hook this set up to an audio system. Originally, I wanted a flat screen, but this is soooo much less expensive. If you can stand a set that is about 17" deep, this is a great choice - and the price keeps coming down - and Amazon ships for free!

4not an lcd picture but very good HDTV
By oldschool;53
before buying this sony i did a lot of comparing, from going into stores to reading every consumer report i could find, having a samsung 40 L.C.D. and not wanting to spend 3,500 to 4,000 for a bigger t.v . i finally got the sony, you will not get the same picture as a l.c.d. thats what i was hung up on ,, however you do get a very good picture. i do a lot of gaming also so the response time was also a factor,, l.c.d. paint the picture something like 8 millisec.. fast but not as fast as the sony does ,something like 2millisec..H.D.channels are great standard ok but they are just ok on my L.C.D. also.. bulb replacement every 2 years more or less should not be a problem easy to do for about 249.00 max.. i looked at all the brands of projection hdtv..i did not want to chance seeing the rainbow effect that DLP can produce, and did not like the picture with the new samsung led light source too dark too new ..all in all for the money a very solid hdtv..
