This display itself appears very nice and would be really wonderful if Samsung packaged it properly.The first display we received had a cracked screen at the top center. Obviously this is damage that occured during shipping. BUT it is Samsung's fault for not packaging this display well. There are styrofoam blocks at each corner of the display in the box. That protects the corners. There is NO protection in the center and being a 46" display there is a lot of center to cover. You can easily press the middle of the box and touch the screen. If you push down on top of the box in the middle it will fold and contact the top of the display.Our second display appeared not to be damaged. It actually is. Upon powering up there is a dark defect in to spots at the top of the screen. One center and one slightly off center left. This defect is not easily seen straight on but extremely obvious when viewed at even a slight angle. There are also dark circles radiating from it throughout the screen. This is likely from shipping damage due to poor packaging.I would not purchase this TV online. Only buy it if you can get a good deal locally. Samsung needs to take better care of their goods, we obviously can't rely on the logistics company to do that. A simple styrofoam block at the top center of the display would likely have saved the two displays from shipping damage. But perhaps Samsung doesn't care. Once it's out of their hands, it's sold. If it's damaged then it's on the shipping company's insurance. Well, Samsung needs to be held liable and their reputation damaged from poor practice.I give them 2 stars because the display would probably be great if it could be had undamaged. But -3 stars for packing. It's that serious.
