2Decent. But With Some Serious Flaws
By Zeb
OK so let me start off by saying that I actually own the 22 inch version of this television, but I assume that the two would be fairly similar. The picture quality on this TV is good. I mean, I've seen better, but I've definitely seen worse. It's about on par with any cheaper HDTV. There are however, some serious flaws with this product.Flaw #1: The sound quality is RUBBISH. The speakers put out really low quality sound, completely devoid of any bass. the Audio menu has two features: Audyseey Dynamic Volume (useless) and SRS trusurround HD. The latter improves the audio quality significantly but unfortunately makes it so quiet one must turn the volume all the way up to be able to hear ANYTHING. You can only use one of these features at a time, so if you accidentally turn the trusurround off, or attempt to turn the dynamic volume (whatever the heck it is) on, you are BLASTED with that bass devoid audio i mentioned before. To avoid the problem, I run the audio through an external stereo system with the trusurround HD turned on.Flaw #2: I suppose this is a small thing, and could very well be isolated. I have antenna TV, so I turn channels with the remote that came with it, as opposed to one from a cable or satellite provider. The problem here is this: it takes forever to change the channel. say I want to go from channel 2 to channel 3. I press the CHANNEL UP button, and am rewarded with 4 seconds of black screen. That may not seem so terrible, but understand that this makes channel surfing into a VERY time consuming activity. Granted, most people who buy an HDTV will have satellite or cable, so this likely won't be an issue for any of you.Flaw #3: HERE is the major problem with this TV. While watching television, lately the sound just decides to cut off. One second there's sound, the next, it's like somebody hit the mute button. I'm certain it's an issue with the TV, because changing the channel or changing any of the audio settings fixes the problem... for about 6 seconds. As I write this, I'm watching SNL, and I haven't heard a peep since a few minutes ago when I decided to time the channel changes. Researching the problem, I found that I'm not the only person with this problem. It only occurs when I watch TV, but many people have claimed that it happens when they're using a DVD/blu-ray player or a game system. It's a really frustrating issue. So overall, I would say that while this TV is generally cheaper than other brands, it would be well worth the extra money to buy the other brand.

1Not reliable
By ItsMe
I had this 19" tv for 1.5 years when it began to turn itself off. Do a search and find out how many people have the same problem with Insignia. It's got a good picture and it's very thin; but what good is it if it does not work.

2Technical Problems
By Marcia Wilson
Picked one up at a garage sale. Worked for ~5 hours then stopped. The AC adapter no longer worked. Looking online I see a bunch of replacement AC adapters for sale. Read the other comments. AHA. This TV routinely ruins AC adapters. Have ordered another one. Will see what happens.
