5Very Satisfied
By Nate
Purchased the LN46C650 model 3 weeks ago ($1167 thru Amazon) and absolutely love it. I was not sure how much added value the internet TV would provide, but after having it for a few weeks I am very glad I went with this model over the non-internet models. I haven't tested every feature yet, so this review is based on taking the usual features for a spin.Delivery: White-glove service was fantastic (on-time, no damage), but then again it would be pretty hard to mess up walking the set 15 feet inside the doorway. Nonetheless, they did great.PROS:- Pandora rocks. This is by far my favorite internet feature to stream music through the TV. I don't have a big stereo system and FM reception is spotty, so this really was a welcome feature.- The sound is just fine. I know some say the Samsung sound isn't up to Sony, and that may be true, but how often are you blasting the volume past, say, 20? The room we have it set up in is relatively small (15x20), so it suits us just fine.- YouTube, Vudo, Yahoo, Associated Press, Weather, and Flickr feeds are pretty cool. You can download movies from Netflix and Blockbuster, but i'm not sure this is any better (cheaper) than most cable services. I guess if you don't have cable this would be great.- I have AT&T U-Verse, and the SD picture is great when tuned to non-HD channels. The HD is amazing.- The Automotion is great, but only for sports in my opinion. We turn it off for regular programming as with HD and Automotion on, the scenes look a little on the cheap side (maybe too real??). It is like you are in the room, which i don't like. This is probably just a personal preference thing.- The TV itself looks amazing and the lack of the red-touch-of-color I think is a good thing.- Controls to tweak the picture seem more than adequate to suit anyone's preferences, though I'm not a A/V guru.- AllShare feature lets you access music, photos and videos contained on networked computers through your TV (after downloading/installing samsung software on your PC). This worked flawlessly and setup was intuitive.- Plug-N-Play media contained on a thumb drive works great too.CONS: I can't think of any major ones, but I'll list a few initial thoughts...- AnyNet+ seems before its time (you have to have all Samsung devices to use as far as I can tell)That's about all I have. If anyone has any questions, I will try to answer. All in all, I have to give this TV a 5. The potential uses for the internet connectivity seems huge.UPDATE: 4 months in and we still love this TV. No problems whatsoever. There are some new Samsung Apps i thought I'd mention...- Google Maps App, can get live traffic just like the web version. Hard to get any accident data though.- Other new apps (but haven't tried): Napster, Hulu Plus, Facebook, CinemaNow?, DailyMotion?

5Beautiful TV (first impressions)
By T. Hladish
I've only had the TV for a few hours, but I have only good things to say at this point. The image quality is awesome, the box was pristine, and setting it up was really easy. The delivery guy even helped me get it mounted to the stand, which I don't think he had to do. I like the menu system--it looks cool and is intuitive and well organized. There are a few things I was concerned about after reading reviews of other Samsung LCD TV's, but I haven't found any of them to be an issue:- The remote is not finicky. You can point it in any direction, even backwards, and it works perfectly.- While you would not mistake the sound from the TV as coming from a good stereo, I'm very happy with it. I've only turned it up to about 15 out of 100, and even that seems loud in a quiet house. If it scales linearly, I can't imagine ever needing to turn it up all the way.- Some people complained about a system Samsung uses to dynamically adjust the backlight to get deeper blacks, and that this system is really annoying. This TV either doesn't use it, or it's not annoying, or maybe I just don't know what I'm supposed to be ticked off about :)- One guy got the wrong stand for his TV. I think he might just be incompetant. I admit when I looked at the TV and the stand, I wasn't sure how they went together at first. When I found the bracket for connecting the two (with good, albeit unnecessary instructions), it became obvious.- I'm not a big fan of the touch of color business, but most of the time you can't even see it.The picture quality is so beautiful I've even found myself watching (some) pre-recorded commercials, admiring nature shots and cars with sleek lines. The new interest in commercials will presumably wane with time. :)If I discover any problems, I'll come back and update.UPDATE (5 months): I still love the TV, and as predicted, I've gone back to skipping commercials. With regard to the remote sensitivity, I believe the sensor on the TV is in the lower right. At one point we had the Wii sitting there, partially blocking that corner, and it seemed that the remote connection became more finicky. (The solution, obviously, is to keep that area of the TV stand clear.)If you have a laptop, the internet connectivity may not be worth it; check the price of the LN46C630 instead, which is basically the same minus the net connection. Occasionally it's useful, but trying to type with the remote is clumsy, not all YouTube videos work (this is a licensing issue, not the TV's fault), and I can't open my Picasa account, despite going through the procedure to register my account. Since connecting a computer is really easy, I very quickly lose patience with the built-in system. I should try Pandora; I noticed another reviewer liked that. I still love the TV, because it's good at being a TV, and I don't need it to double as a computer when there are four in the house.Regarding Auto Motion Plus: At first, I just noticed that everything looked kind of weird and smooth--the best description I have is that everything looked like a soap opera. Ultimately, I decided I hated it and turned it off. As I understand it, it's a way of interpolating frames when the input is slower than 120Hz. It seems like a good idea, I just couldn't get used to it. If I could bring myself to watch a soap opera, I'd be curious to see how much soapier it can get with Auto Motion Plus. Also, do yourself a favor: buy a ~$5 HDMI cable online, rather than getting suckered into the $50-100 cables that do the EXACT SAME THING. Keep your cables short and use as few connections as possible, and you'll be just fine.

5Great TV
By Mikey
I've been using the TV for only a few days now, but it really is a great set. The picture is amazing and the black reproduction is really good. Internet widgets are extremely easy to use and were truely plug & play; no additional set up required. This set does include netflix and pandora, even though it is not listed above. One thing to note if you are purchasing this set is that the DVI audio input and audio output connectors are stero headphone connectors, not RCA red/white ones that are usually present. This led to some scrambling to find an appropriate converter when I was setting the TV up! Also, the screen is of the glossy variety. I personally am not too bothered by it, but when the screen is dark and the room is light, you can see reflections of the wall behind you. Again, not that big of a deal for me!

5Nice TV for the Family
By C.Miller
I love this TV, the picture is beautiful and it is the right size for me and my family. Only thing I wish is that it played movies from a flash drive but other than that it is a great addition to your family area.

5Great tv.
By Matthew
So far so good with this TV. I can't complain about anything other than the screen seems to get darker all of a sudden but that could just be me. It has great quality picture. The volume can be turned up very loud which is a plus for me since my last TV could be all the way up and still hard to hear. The audio quality isn't the best, but it isn't terrible. Overall, I am very happy. Great gaming and movie watching TV with lots of options.

5Great TV But Beware!!
By Papa Al
This TV is great for the $412 I paid for it on Amazon. The picture and sound are good but if you hook up a DVD recorder to record a program a nuisance warning pops up for about 10 seconds that the TV can't find the HDCP signal. I googled it and it seems Intel put a chip in the TV to restrict recording in High Definition.

5Great deal
By bs-2010
I bought this Vizio because I needed a decent sized tv that was relatively cheap but would also fit into a dorm room. The picture quality is excellent and the difference between this tv's 720p and other 1080p is negligible. At first colors looked a little washed out on my 360 but after fiddling with the tv/xbox settings it now looks superb. The size of the tv is also nice...it is lightweight and is super slim. The only thing that could be improved on is the speakers which imo are still a lot better than most tv's in this price range/size. It sounds a little hollow and could use more bass but overall it isn't too bad (it helps to turn off srs surround and switch to rock equalizer). Volume also isn't too big of an issue with this tv like on other tv's since this has front facing speakers as opposed to rear speakers. There is also very little lag or ghosting at 8ms and 60ghz refresh rates. Highly recommended if you are looking for a tv that is cost efficient and has good picture quality.

2Decent for Guest Room; Not for Master Bedroom.
By Gordon Gekko
I purchased this LED for our guest room when the price was $299 at Target. They dropped the price down to $209 and I was able to get a price adjustment on the guest room TV and thought it was too good of a deal to pass up for a TV we needed for our bedroom. I am using over-the-air (OTA) feed for my guest room and DirecTV for my bedroom. At $209 for an LED TV, I would normally say "beggars can't be choosers" and be happy that I got such a good deal. However, given the overwhelming glowing reviews for this product here on Amazon, I feel I should mention a design flaw to make sure everyone is aware of what they are buying. You can read the "positives" from the other reviews on here. When watching dark programming or dark colors, you can see waves in the picture emanating from the center of the screen going both up and down. It is more evident in "Movie" mode and less in "Retail" mode. Likely do to the "Retail" mode being the most used in store displays. Those who currently own this model, give it a try. At first I thought it might be a singularly bad TV I bought. Only, I went to our guest room to see if the other TV pulsated with waves. Sure enough, the same thing. This engineering flaw may not bother some people, but it does me regardless of the price. What is funny is my wife was the first to notice these waves. This, coming from a woman who initially couldn't tell the difference between an HD video feed and an SD video feed. Bless her heart, she got it right with this baby. These were my first Vizio TVs. I will be keeping this model in my guest room but returning the model for my bedroom. We watch too much programming in our bedroom to look past this issue.Again, maybe this warning will not deter someone set on a deal like this. I suggest going into Target and changing the picture setting from "Retail" to "Movie" to see for yourself.Good luck!

4Great picture, sounds standard!
By hatebreed1885
The picture on this TV is far above my expectations. The image is bright, crisp and vibrant. The remote is a little unresponsive, have to press a couple times to get it to respond sometimes. The sound is mediocre, nothing to run and tell your friends about. All in all, this is a great tv, the flaws are so minor(IMO) when compared to the quality of the television.

5Very Impressive. Samsung showing style and performance.
By J. J. INYoon
First off, I have had an 40" Samsung for 3 years and have been very pleased with it. It has a matte screen so that is what I was looking for. I really didn't want any glare so I actually was looking at LG's since they are one of few companies that make 50"+ lcds with matte screens. CNET reviewed the LG's with high marks as well so I was pretty much dead set on an LG.So I went to Fry's, Bestbuy, HHgregg, and local TV shop just checking out the products. I definitely liked the pictures of the LG's. The colors are on par with the Samsungs and the washout from off angles is also better. But I couldn't get over the simple fact that the Samsungs just looked better. Every store I went to I was like yeah there's glare, but when the screen is fully lit you don't really see it, plus you know we all were used to CRT glass screens for years. The LG technically had deeper blacks, but in reality the matte refraction light made the screen seem more grayish and the glossy screens appeared to have deeper blacks due to clarity. Also, the clarity of the images in the Samsungs was noticeably better. Just one of those things you just see and say yeah that's better. For a final look, I brought my wife for her opinion and she point right to the Samsung as the better picture. So as a matte finish fan and all the technical abilities of the LG's I had to go with the Samsung. Beyond the amazing picture the style is so much better. So thin, lighter, and the UN55c6500 has a great thin border, actually charcoal matte, with a nice clear trim. Looks so clean.I've read where some people have said that the picture is so good that it almost looks 3d. I have to agree, playing some video games and bluray, the picture is so good it does almost look 3d.I also got the wireless dongle (free with purchase) and it works quite easily. No issue thus far. There definitely are reflections, but glare isn't really too bad. I also did see the rainbow effect from my ceiling lights, but only if in direct view. The motion plus still makes everything look soap opera, but being able to turn it down helps a lot. Samsung has more settings for this than LG's.I am very pleased with this buy.

5Best I've ever owned, picture really grabs you
By John in OC
we already had 4 HDTVs when I bought this one on 5/2/10- Sony 46", Sharp Aquos 65", Samsung Touch of Color 52", and Panasonic plasma 58". All but the Sony are less than 2 years old- and all look good. But that Samsung Touch of Color really stood out. The picture has always been a real step above the others. So, we went to Best Buy to look at the latest Samaungs, and ended up buying this one.I have never seen a picture like it. It looks 3 dimensional- you can really place people and scenery in space. It's almost eerie. Another reviewer has complained of flash lighting- but I can't see any evidence of it. Plus the thing is energy efficient- 190w max- less when back lighting is down (which everyone will turn down I'd expect- it's very bright). It's better at not reflecting light than plasmas for sure- another plus- and looks great when the room is brightly lit. It's quiet when on- no "buzz"- and it's relatively cool.I've (unfortunately) sent back large TVs in the past- including a 65" (which Amazon was great about). I couldn't be happier with this one- so far at least.*edited 5/8/10- netflix streaming nor Blockbuster streaming worked initially- but a firmware release in early May corrected this. Apps work fine- and VuDu works great and streams in 1080p/24 with Dolby Digital sound anyway- so it's a better source for great looking content. Currently Netflix still sends only stereo (dolby prologic II) audio...

5Simply Amazing Picture
By James Thomas
I had a 53" Pioneer Rear Projection for 6 years now and decided to upgrade to something that was slimmer and nicer.Simply put, the picture on this set is awesome! I have had it more than a month and very pleased with it. I bought it with the assumption that I would try it and if I didn't like it just return it (since it is so expensive) and get something cheaper. I did a lot of research from seeing it multiple times and Best Buy and PC Richard and Sons to following an Audio Video Forum from actual owners regarding this TV.Strangely enough there is a panel lottery as to what TV screen you will get. I received a SK03 panel and from what I read and know, the S panels have better off angle viewing than the C panels but more of a tendency to show clouding and spotlighting. I don't notice any real off angle viewing since I am watching it from the front and I am lucky to say that there are no spotlighting or clouding issues (believe me I looked hard!). A lot of the clouding or spotlighting can be significantly reduced with proper settings but there are some panels that just show it more than others. I have tested it in many dark movie scenes with bright foregrounds as well as letter box movies (can be found easier by watching bright scenes with dark edges. Unfortunately this is a problem with most LED Edge lit panels and the higher-end Samsung LED TVs have the ability to dim this.I don't play games so I can't comment on that but a friend brought over his PS3 to see how it looked playing some of his faster paced games (I read some people had issues with speed and shadow images) and he absolutely loved it. We didn't encounter any issues with lag as others had. He was so please that he is planning to buy the same set to replace his Sony.If you push the info button on the remote you see a little power meter that shows how much electricity this LED TV is using over a standard set. Not sure how true this simple meter is though...but it is still cool.A couple words of advice:Although the Auto Motion Plus looks great on (gives the picture a Soap Opera feel to it making it look a little too real). I personally set mine for Clear (or off if you prefer) as it causes more picture quality problems for me than it is worth and plus I can't get used to it. Maybe once I mount the set I will give it another try to see if I can get used. Please note that the TV will never display 120 Hz in the TV info bar that appears on the top left corner. This displays the resolution that your TV is receiving from the set-top-box, DVD, etc and will always display 60 Hz rate and the resolution (720, 1080i, 1080p). This is not the Rate the set is processing/displaying. You can be assured that the set is outputting 120 Hz.I connected a wired internet (CAT5e) cable to the set and downloaded all the widgets and upgrades needed. Youtube widget work perfectly and I wasted a good hour before I was done. (can watch these movies in small window or full screen (although a little pixilated)). I haven't used Facebook or Netflix yet but will down the line as it is pretty easy and convenient.I haven't used the DLNA feature too much as I have dedicated Media player that connect to my NAS. However I did try it and instantly saw my NAS and PC (had to install Samsung PC Share Manager). There is also an iPhone app for this series that let's you control aspects of your TV (makes it easier to type words on the screen (youtube, facebook, etc). TV and iphone must be using the same router. Not the greatest thing but kind of cool. The greatest thing is this TV has SO many settings can you can tweak it to your likingI advise people when you get this TV to look online for settings and forums dealing with this set and optimal settings as without changing anything I might have returned it. Set is simply breathtaking.

1Good tv, if it's working
By Ally
I purchased this tv at another retailer for sale on Black Friday. 3 weeks later the picture went out and now 30 days after I called the tv still isn't fixed, apparently the part is on back order and the only option they will give me is to take the tv back for a refund or wait for the part. They will not replace the tv. Problem is, the store doesn't accept returns on electronics after 14 days and I can't get anyone in customer service to help me. I used to think Toshiba made a great product, and they still may however their customer service department is horrible. I wouldn't do business with them again.

4Really like it except for the glare.
By Ionia Martin
This TV has excellent color and a beautiful display. I like that the features are simple to understand and yet it has a lot of features to choose from. The sound is excellent and with the addition of a home surround system it sounds just like being in a movie theater. The remote can be programmed to do multiple functions and the set up was pretty straight forward. The response time is great and Shark Week was terrifying on this TV (yes that was important.) Pretty much everything in the menu is interactive and fully adjustable for the viewer's preference. I love that it has the theater wide settings for optimal viewing as well. The only real problem I have with this TV is that there is a screen glare issue. My living room has a giant picture window and no matter where I put the TV there is still a glare. Otherwise I think this is a great TV for the price and would highly recommend it for the movie buff.

4great tv
By erich
Great tv but doesn t have analog audio out so you need the optic plug, plus if your home theather doesnt have optic audio input you will need to get an optic to RCA converter.

3Picture Quality is fine. Sound is poor.
By Jonathan D. Johnson
We got what we paid for. This is bottom of the line.Bought this to go in a workout room. Its only fed from a Roku or DVD player so we're not asking much of the picture quality. We'll soon need speakers to go with it because the sound quality is really bad.Had we paid more it would get a lower rating.

4Great TV despite some flaws
By stan
I've had this tv for over 6 years and though it's starting to show its age it still works greatThe only cons I have for this television is that it has no HDMI input, and it weighs 170+ pounds.

5I love this TV!
By V. Kim
I purchased this television set in 2003 and from the moment I set it up it has been amazing in every aspect. I love the picture quality and the SRS trusurround is a very good sound from a television, it even gives the illusion of surround sound if you put the TV in the right acoustical environment. It does not have 1080P capability but that is not a big deal for me, its hard to tell a difference if any as long as you aren't sitting a foot in front of the television and what do you expect from a TV thats outdated almost 9 years? One bit of advice for anyone who currently owns or is purchasing this set used, don't be afraid to open up the back of the television and clean off the lamps, they are dust magnets so if your picture starts to seem dark, just get a soft cloth and dust them off. After dusting you want to adjust the convergence to get the picture right. Do that every 6 months or so and this tv will last you forever!
