Solid performance and thin, clean design

We wanted a small-ish bedroom TV that performs well and is reasonably thin.We looked at the current (2012) Samsung models, which review well but are nearly four inches thick, and Panasonic's, which are thin but get mediocre feedback. After some sleuthing (thanks, Value Electronics) I got ahold of Samsung's 2013 model numbers. I was attracted to this unit, dismissing the higher-end models due to their weird-looking stands and 3D and "Smart TV" features we won't use. I plugged this model into an Amazon search and was surprised to find it buried in the results. I was even more surprised to find it in stock.This model has a thin, clean design. The picture and sound are impressive. I'd probably lean towards a larger Panasonic or Samsung plasma for a main viewing area, but it's a great secondary TV.
