5The Review You Were Looking For
By Andrew S. Tafoya
This is a weird purchase for me, coming from being a SONY & Samsung Fanboy. This is the most outstanding 2D picture I have ever laid my eyes on, and I have seen many High-end Television sets. I almost bought a Sony XBR-HX909 for the super high reviews on its amazing 2D image. But once I saw the 3D image I was a bit thrown off by the 3D technology, after already owning a Panasonic 3D Viera which was much better. So this is what I have gathered from my total experience with the Vizio 3D HDTV:-PROS-+The purchased place with Amazon was better than I thought it would have been. Easy, Fast, Free Shipping, NO TAX (Tax is around $115 if you buy from a store), and perfectly cared for; Sam's Club is scary, lol.+47 inches of "OMG! It is bigger than I thought." This set gives so much at this price, quality, and Size!!!+The LED television is thicker, due to the 160 LEDs being directly behind the screen. This makes for better contrast that will blow your mind away!!! I have never seen this kind of true black on a set ever before. Sony sells this technology for around $3,500; yikes!+Features, Features, Features!!! The WiFi works amazingly. The Netflix app play videos at a higher resolution than my PS3 or computer using HDMI. The WebTV programs are limited but they are great, like Revision3. There is Vudu rental, Amazon Steaming, and of course Netflix. There is Pandora and a radio app for local radio station; or any state you want.+The best built-in speakers! The sound is out outrageous, there is simply no thin TV that can house speaker like the ones on this set. I was going to buy a 5.1 Dolby system for the room, but I only turn the volume up 20% on the Vizio. I recommend to turn Truevolume off, if causes weird volume changes. This feature is on most Televisions with different names, but always cause volume issues; much like ipod's volume settings.+The remote is bluetooth and an amazing little device. All remotes should be like this one!!! It is universal, and automatically has the codes in the television for all devices but the PS3; due to the PS3 syncing. But the XBOX 360 is compatible! TIVO, DirectTV, etc. The keyboard is great for the apps and Facebook! Since it is bluetooth, like the PS3 Blu-ray remote, the signal is always connected, so the buttons are harder to press so you don't accidentally change channels. This is a good thing.+Bluetooth means wireless headphones so you don't bother others who don't want to hear the TV; like my girlfriend when she is sleeping. You can buy Vizio's headsets, or any bluetooth headset you may have will work as well.+The accessories like the Vizio Router, Bluetooth Headset, or Vizio Stereo equipment are made easy and for a great price (high ratings from CNET). The 3D Glasses are sold seperately, but only cost around $150 for two rechargeable glasses. That is about the price that SONY or Samsung sells for one Pair!!! Very Cheap for 3D!!! 2 SONY pairs will buy you 4 Vizio pairs. A lot of the other 3D TVs come with one pair, or no glasses at all.+The Price is dead on with AWESOME!!! It is robbery!!! I payed $1500, and chose Amazon after the tax factor of buying in a store. The 480hz (really 240hz) makes 2D images amazing, and not look fake at all! Remember to turn this feature all the way to high, because it is turned off out-of-the-box.Okay, well here is the BAD:CONS-There is no SD slot, but this is not a problem really. There is 3 USB ports! 3!!! I never used the SD slot on my Panasonic, it is kind of useless.-The 3D is not like my Plasma 3D. BUT!!! The Plasma does great 3D, but not a great 2D image. 3D is a fun factor, don't take it seriously and you will be fine. The ghosting issue is present, but it is present on every 3D set I have seen but the Panasonic 3D Plasmas. The 3D can be down right horrible on the PS3 video games at times, but does okay on the movies. Remember that 3D is not a every moment thing on this set. It is used rarely and on all 3D pictures you can turn it off to 2D. I personally like the 3D and the glasses, but don't think that there will be any set better than this, other than the Plasmas. The real focus should be that the TVs 480hz (really 240hz) is used for better 3d, but really make the biggest difference on the 2D image; which is amazing!-Size, is a bit thicker, but it is because it has to be in order to produce the images at the 10,000,000:1 Contrast. I think the set is beautiful, and my friends freak out how beautiful it is in person! So Size is nothing but a few inches difference. You should really not worry about size though, you can't see how thick the TV is, but you can tell the Image difference.IN THE ENDThis Television out preforms all the Television set I have seen, even the Samsung 8000 series. It has so many features, you will feel that you just robbed Vizio of their money about $1000. The 3D is okay, but you shouldn't worry; no one will have a TV even close in quality to this one! The accessories are great, with amazing prices. You will ultimately feel that you are leagues ahead of any other TV. The black are literally black (the led turn off), the whites are bright as all hell, the color are beyond anything you know! You cannot go wrong with this purchase. I hate to say it, but Vizio converted me away from the other brands (Sony, Samsung, etc.). The Reviews from CNET are endlessly great too! This should be the happiest purchase on a Television set you will ever have. Good luck, and feel free to post extra question, I will answer back :)

3Amazing 2D, broken 3D.
By J. Puckett
I've been in the market for a new TV for about a year now and have been waiting patiently for a decently priced LED LCD as well as 3D. This 47" Vizio seemed to finally hit the price point and size that I was looking for, so I jumped on a pre-Super Bowl sale from a nationwide wholesaler. I picked up the TV along with a pair of the Vizio-branded 3D glasses.A quick note before going into my review. My TV came with firmware version VIZIO_XP1.21.2.1.I'll start out by saying that the 2D picture is absolutely amazing. The blacks are black and colors are vibrant. The TV almost doesn't need any calibration coming out of the box for those who like to tweak the picture. For those who never know any better, they should be very happy from the get-go. Thanks to the local dimming, I can see no issues of backlight bleeding/clouding/flashlighting on my set. Also due to the 160 local dimming zones, I've seen no hint of blooming on my set from my normal viewing distance of about 8'. The TV just absolutely shines with well-mastered blu-ray movies. So far I've tested Avatar and The Hangover, and both simply blow my mind with the quality present. I upgraded from a 4-year old 60hz 1080p LCD and watching blu-ray movies on this new Vizio is like experiencing HD all over again. I promise you this is not hyperbole, I'm that amazed by the clarity of the picture when being fed top-notch, non-compressed signals. The remote feels a bit cheap but gets the job done. The slide-out keyboard is very nice for the Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) feature and works as expected. The buttons are a bit stiff though and the remote itself feels like it's prone to breakage at some point in the future. The motion interpolation control in this TV seems to be well done, frame transitions are very smooth and, from what I can tell, introduce no artifacts or juddering. You can turn the motion control completely off if you don't like the "soap opera effect", as it's called. There are 4 settings for the motion control, "Off", "Low", "Medium", and "High". Changing between "Off" and "Low" produces the obvious intended effect, but I'm so far unable to perceive a difference between "Low", "Medium", and "High".The Vizio Internet Apps are merely OK to me, as I already have a lot of this functionality available to me through my Playstation 3 or XBOX 360. There currently is no Youtube or Hulu support on VIA with the 3D versions of these TVs, which is a bummer. I would expect them to be added in a future firmware update though, since the 2D-only XVT line has them. The Netflix app worked OK, no issues here. For the curious, it appears to use the interface of the old PS3 disc-based Netflix app, which is sufficient but not the best out of the many UI iterations Netflix has come up with over various devices. The Facebook app seemed highly useless to me, as it seemed to require too much navigation to view the stuff I wanted. The Twitter app actually seemed quite useful and shows the latest followed tweet directly in the "tile" when bringing up the VIA interface...a nice touch. The weather app serves its purpose well and the VUDU app was actually put together nicely, although it still pales in comparison to the slick PS3 VUDU app. It does fare better in a head-to-head comparison than does the Netflix app, though. I haven't tried any of the other apps installed. All-in-all, I think the addition of VIA is a nice feature-add to the TV but not a selling point. On to the 3D, which was the second-most feature I was looking forward to on this model. After giving it a fairly thorough testing across different types of media, I think it's just plain broken. The crosstalk/ghosting is very bad through almost all content I tried, rarely looking great enough that I would consider it "watchable". The problem seems to be with high-contrast screens, which includes almost everything you're going to watch unfortunately. I'm somewhat leaning towards the Vizio glasses being the problem, as I'm not convinced they are opaque enough when closed, but the issue could lie in any number of places. I'm tempted to be silly and try using them along with some sunglasses to see if that helps block out any extra unwanted light from each eye, but even if it did help, that's obviously not an acceptable work-around.I've tried various 3D-enabled games, the n3D channel on DirecTV, and the free 3D demos available on VUDU. The only times I've watched something and had all forms of crosstalk disappear is with Super Stardust HD, some scenes in the Toy Story 3 trailer, and almost all of the Jim Carrey animated Christmas movie trailer (mainly due to it being mostly dark). Everything else has been bad enough to where I consider it completely unwatchable.I had thought to try adjusting picture settings while displaying 3D content to see if I could minimize or eliminate some of the crosstalk, but Vizio locks you out of virtually ALL picture settings while in 3D mode. You only have access to color temperature and maybe one other setting, neither of which did anything to hamper the crosstalk.*** UPDATE *** The following paragraph is from my original review. However, the recent firmware update to this TV has fixed the issue. I can now watch ESPN3D in all its glory.Another note on this model for those with DirecTV, there is a known problem with the ESPN 3D channel not working. Vizio users who attempt to access the ESPN 3D channel are greeted with a message stating that your TV does not support 720p in 3D and are unable to view. The problem almost definitely lies with the DirecTV hardware, but as of this posting, I'm not sure they acknowledged it. Vizio is not an officially supported manufacturer with DirecTV 3D, so they aren't currently required to help you to get it working. Be warned of this.*** END UPDATE ***Overall, I absolutely love the 2D, but the 3D is pretty much busted. I've only had the TV for a couple of days, but I'm considering about taking it back and getting a refund. I have 90 days to make a decision, so I do plan on calling/emailing Vizio to see if the crosstalk issue can be resolved by new glasses or a firmware update. I gave my review 3 stars to split it's strengths and weaknesses down the middle. 3D is the big feature of this model and it just doesn't work as it should. If I can somehow get most of the 3D issues resolved, I'll change the review to 5 stars in a heartbeat.Simply put, if you want to use the 3D on this set, I wouldn't consider it.

4EARLY REVIEW
By David T. Fischer
I just purchased this TV and I'm still in the process of doing everything with it, but I'm here to give an honest first impression. I'm actually using my computer connected to this TV to write this review and let me say that in my tiny bedroom this TV is massive. It looks great with my computer connected via RGB and there is little to no lag. I just watched KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas on the TV last night and the stream looked pretty good for what it was. The 2D picture is fantastic on this product and both my PS3 and Xbox 360 look amazing on it. The 3D needs work and I knew that coming into this TV. There is some ghosting of the image when watching 3D, but it does it's job well enough. You will definitely notice ghosting on anything other than Blu-ray 3D and titles in general. I'm not happy about it, but what can you do? I'm not using a certified 3D HDMI cable, so maybe that's an issue? I know it's a high speed HDMI cable, so it should be good enough. I did just order an Amazon High Speed 3D supported cable though to see if there is a difference. I'll update this review with my findings. I'd say the 3D is not a must for this TV, but is a cool extra. I watched a 3D Hockey game last night that was broadcast on Xfinity 3D in my area. It was pretty cool, but the ghosting is plentiful. If you don't know what I mean by ghosting, well I mean that you can see a shadow of the image behind the 3D image and it makes everything a bit blurry. The score graphic on the Hockey game looked horrible as do the static titles in most 3D cases. I would not recommend buying the 3D GLASSES, WHICH HAVE TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY. I bought mine at Sam's Club for about $160 and I was happy for that price. I still would caution anyone expecting perfect 3Dm which is a let down when you don't feel it's perfect after spending so much money. Vizio should really bundle at least one pair of 3d glasses, especially since the technology is not up to snuff. I tried some of the Vizio Internet Apps and the Yahoo Weather is cool, so is the Amzon Video(Thanks for the $5 video credit!) Netflix seems to work, but it as SUPER SLOW for me through wireless connection and my bars are almost full. I thought the TV froze it was so slow. Maybe being connected with Ethernet directly would change this. Anyway, here are some pros and cons, if you have any questions email me at: Doofus88@gmail.comPROS:-Great 2D picture-3D option is nice-Works well with connected computers, PS3, and Xbox 360.-Sound is pretty good, mind you I'm in a tiny room.-Internet Apps are nice, but Netflix seemed slow over wireless.CONS:-3D technology not good enough for the high price tag.-Expensive 3D glasses that are NOT INCLUDED.SIDE COMMENT:I also want to comment that Amazon uses Pilot for shipping and they really suck. DON'T EXPECT YOUR TV TO BE DELIVERED ON THE DAY YOU SCHEDULE ON AMAZON. I got mine Saturday and it was supposed to be delivered Thursday. Pilot's costumer service was rude and the delivery man did not handle my TV with care. I just wanted everyone who orders to know that.VIZIO 47-Inch Class Full HD 3D Full Array TruLED with Smart Dimming LCD HDTV 480 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet AppsUPDATE: 12-18-10Just a few updates for my review here. One thing I did is add attributes for different aspects of this TV.3D UPDATEI got the new Amazon HDMI cable that supports 3D and is highspeed and the 3D effect is still the same. I think it works the best on Blu-Ray 3D movies. A Christmas Carol looks great and The Polar Express look really good. There still is some ghosting issues with them, although they have the least of it. I also have a PS3 and played Wipeout HD in 3D, which was ok, but still had lots of ghosting. Pacific Rift really did not look good at all in 3D though, lots of ghosting. I'm curious if it's just that those games were converted and I'll have to wait to get a game made for 3D to really get a great 3D game experience.SOUNDWhen I was watching a Blu-ray on my PS3 I noticed some popping randomly during the movie. There are small, but still noticeable. I contacted Vizio and asked them what the best set up for sound through the TV would be. Their online chat is really helpful, really good service, and they told me what exactly to do. I think I still notice it sometimes, but overall I think it's gone. I will update more on this since this could be a potential problem. I think I should be able to use all the settings on for this TV. My settings for anyone if they want to know are...Both SRS settings off.PCM for digital output.Audio mode: FlatPictureJust a small thing to nit pick about. I noticed on my Blu-Rays that they sometimes look grainy. I know it's not the TV though because all my games look perfect and no grain anywhere. I think that due to the size of the TV and now close I am, I just notice the small details of the digital transfer more. Or if the movie was shot on film, I notice the grain more. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just wanted to point that out.I hope my updates help everyone.****UPDATE 2: January 31st, 2011****Just a reminder to people who read my review to read the comments on my post to see if I answer any more of your questions while talking with other people. I do also want to state I contacted Amazon once and had the TV exchanged for a new one of the same model because I was unhappy with the "backlight bleed" I was experiencing. My current TV does not have any bleed, just to update. I think it's a serious problem though, so watch out if you get this TV and see that there is a brighter spot somewhere when there is a black screen.

5Great TV
By Frank1701a
I had originally bought a Vizio LED 22inch. It had poor sound and picture quality. Since 2006 I've been avoiding Samsung products since I bought a DVD recorder from them that records DVD's that only play on the machine that records them. My recorded DVD's wouldn't even play properly on another Samsung DVD player. Back then I called them to tell them my problem; they basically told me I was out of luck. I was hoping to Archive some old home movies. At my house I have a Samsung DLP, and the beformentioned DVD player that upconverts the DVD's to high definition. I also had an old style 13 inch Samsung TV that gave good service.I chose this Samsung 22 LED since I had seen it at Best Buy and saw that the picture quality was very good. There is pixelation on dark scenes but this may be due to AT&T U-Verse. Aside from this the picture quality is very good and better than a supposed 1080p Vizio I had bought. I later learned that the only place you can get 1080p is from a Blu Ray player. Cable/Satellite companies are broadcasting in 720p.The sound on this TV is excellent and it comes with different sound options, all of which sound very well. The only drawback so far on this TV is the on/off timer. This is a feature I wanted to keep since my old 13 inch Samsung had it. The weird thing about their On/Off timer is that when the TV comes on you can only choose from two source options, the USB drive or the coaxial cable connection. So you can't wake up to the HDMI source setting of the TV, I don't know why they put this limitation into the design of the TV, it's very odd. Hopefully they'll have a software update to correct it.From what I've understood from reading the manual it can't play quicktime movies, I haven'd had time to try one. If it can't play quicktime videos that's another limitation the set should have corrected in the future. The design of the TV itself is very nice, and while the remote is a bit bulky it has all the basic functions. I like that it has a sleep button right on the remote. Some other TV's make you go through a long Menu to get to the sleep setting; when you are falling asleep pressing a button a few times is a lot easier than some intricate navigation menu. The OnScreen menu is easy to use once you figure out how to navigate around it. A thoughtful feautre they put in is that when you highlight a choice such as "digital noise filter" an explanation comes on at the bottom of the screen indicating what this feature does.I liked that it has a PIP option. The only thing you can watch in the PIP window is the coaxial cable connection though. I hooked up my computer to the TV and was able to watch regular TV in the PIP window.I would definitely recommend this set to a friend.

4great tv
By Eric F
I am very happy with this samsung tv, purchasing it for my bedroom, its a much better fit in my small bedroom than my previous bulky 27" tube tv. My only real complaint is the volume can be a little soft at times, but that is not really a major issue for a bedroom tv. Still very highly recommended.

4Phenomenal TV!
By Lorraine
We are very happy with this TV. We had a 15-inch Sony Wega for 5+ years and the picture on that TV was a hard act to follow (we were sorry we had not purchased the 20-inch version 5 yrs ago). Then, a couple of years ago we tried to upgrade to a 22-inch LCD TV but couldn't find anything that compared in clarity, sharpness, & crispness to the Wega picture. However, this TV is phenomenal - the picture is excellent and the sound is fine (we use it in a small family room and kitchen - we just swivel it around on a turntable depending on the room we're in). We had first purchased a Sony Bravia LCD but returned it - it did not compare to the Wega. However, this Samsung LED does not disappoint and the design of the TV is beautiful and sleek. The only annoyance is that when you use the cable box remote for volume, you can't hold the volume button down and quickly advance the volume level - you have to keep pressing the volume control to advance the number one at a time. The cable company said this is true with all the Samsungs and there's nothing they can do about that - so we just use the Samsung remote when we need to move the volume up or down quickly (not a big deal for us)and the only reason we gave it a 4 instead of a 5.

4Recommended (if you don't care about sound)
By Brian S Williams
I bought this TV to be used in my bedroom for basic cable and Netflix via Wii or Roku. This is my second Toshiba LCD, as I was very pleased with the 42" I bought 3 years ago.I generally like everything about Toshiba TVs... good performance for moderate price, sensible menus and controls, quality, etc...That said, this TV sounds bad. If you care about sound and don't want to break the bank, I highly recommend Samsung's entry level models. I planned from the beginning to plug this Toshiba into a Pioneer receiver for sound, so I didn't even check the sound in the store. So, the poor quality sound doesn't effect me, but if you don't plan to use external speakers and a receiver, the sound might be a deal-breaker for you.Otherwise I am thrilled with everything else about this purhcase and have no regrets. I would have given it 5 stars if it had excellent sound.

3Good picture, bad sound
By T. Clark
Purchased this TV from a big box store nearby after deciding it would be quicker than waiting for a Samsung from Amazon. The TV is for my daughters bedroom. The picture is fine - we have it hooked up to U-Verse via HDMI. But the sound is awful. It's bad enough that I'm debating returning it just for that. It's like it only has tweeters - no midrange or woofers. You have to turn it up really loud to understand dialogue. Because of its use in a bedroom the sound really isn't that critical. I'll give my daughter a week to adjust to the sound. If she's still not happy I'll take it back. It's sad that the Emprex TV it's replacing sounded so much better. Five stars for value, 4 stars for picture, 1 star for sound.

5Beautiful clear picture
By Richard G.
I had already bought the 26" version of this set and was so pleased with the picture quality that I went for the 32". I have satellite TV and the HD image run through these TV's is stunning in it's clarity. If you can, do use the cables from your cable box to connect up, instead of just the standard coax. It's a knock out. Toshiba makes good quality televisions and they kept the price down, with these budget sets. Oh, and if you are like me, and you were agonizing about whether to spend the extra dough, to buy a 1080p TV versus a 720P? The need for the 1080p only comes into play when you get into the 46" screens and beyond. Don't throw your money away thinking that you've got to do that. The clarity of this 32" is perfect. My friend just bought a 46" Sony 1080p for about a thousand bucks. Yup, the picture quality is the same as mine. Speakers: the TV makers pretty much assume that folks are running their sound through their home audio or stereos, as I am, so the cabinet speakers are not deluxe for that reason. It's a non issue. Also, rear port damage is usually caused by overly strained cables (the morons who make the HD cables seem to think 6' is long enough, I use a longer and softer cord for the connections to the back of the TV). Lastly, many thanks to the folks who took the time to review this television on the site here, because it helped me a lot, as usual.

5Samsung Plasma Beats LED/LCD
By Wildcat Guy
I had the c8000 55" LED for over 3 weeks and loved the bright and clear picture, but it was hard to get the settings right for normal viewing, the viewing angle was atrocious vs. even LCD screens, and parts of the screen in dark scenes still have some clouding. I sent the LED back and purchased the c8000 58" plasma. I'm very happy with it so far, especially after tweaking the settings. Now, I have all the pop of the LED but with consistent colors, better blacks and unlimited viewing angle. The details. . . .ProsGreat uniform picture - great price the $ vs. LED. Easy to self-calibrate vs. the LED Samsung.Remote is very nice compared to the bluray remote (same as the c8000 LED remote), but I'm using a Harmony 900 for all my components so it isn't used. You can turn off the motion judder canceller and ditch the soap opera effect when watching movies. Cinema Smooth makes high-end movies look great.Bright screen compared to plasmas I've had.Real 3D content (Monsters v. Aliens) looks great (even with a 1.3 highspeed HDMI cable -- however, 2D to 3D conversion of regular programs gives only nice depth - not pop out 3d.Very thin TV - fairly lightweight for a plasma - nice stand (stainless) and bezel (dark gray), but not as cool in my opinion as the LED version which has a stainless bezel.Netflix app works through both through the TV and the bluray and surprisingly has good pic quality - not bluray like, but close to DVD quality with no glitches (assuming you have a fast internet connection).Much less screen glare than the c8000 LED. This TV does not have a matte screen like many other LCD HDTVs, but Real Black Filter kills the glare much better than the c7000 plasma I saw at BB. Note that the c8000 LED has an incredibly shiny screen, making it difficult to watch in a bright room.Like all plasmas, the screen looks the same despite your seating position in the room. The c8000 LED has a good picture when straight on - but move a few feel off center and the picture would fade substantially. No such problems here.ConsTV isn't wifi - need a $80 adapter or have to hardwire it - TV firmware didn't update through the adapter - had to update on Samsung site with USB.Overall a top notch TV that is larger than the LED, has a better and more uniform picture, lower glare, better off angle viewing and is cheaper. What is not to like? Here are my settings after having the TV a month. If you have a bright room or if you like the "pop" of the LED, these settings will blow you away. If you have a dark basement or watch only at night, dial the CellLight back to 10 or so and maybe put the color on normal vs. cool and you'll be set:CAL-DAY Mode, Cell Light 20, Brightness 50, Color 50, tint 50/50, Sharpness 40, cool, native, MJC off, Filmmode 1, black (darker), dynamic contrast (med), gamma 2, other settings on auto. Cinema Smooth to "on" but it only works on bluray 24p input.

1BUYER BEWARE: PANEL CRACKS
By CT Mom
The first 5 weeks with this TV were fantastic, very similar experience to all of the positive reviews - we were more than happy with our purchase. That ended after 5 weeks, we had turned the TV on, went into the kitchen to make lunch, came back to a black screen. When we looked closely, we saw a spider like crack underneath the glass and the TV would not turn back on. The TV had been sitting on its TV stand since amazon had delivered it without being touched or moved. We are currently working with the Samsung warranty to get this problem fixed but I just heard back that they say it is "physical damage" and not covered under warranty. After some research, I found a forum on c-net dedicated to this issue - hundreds of angry consumers with the same exact experience we had - all flat panel samsung tvs that mysteriously cracked under the glass without anyone touching the unit. In most cases it took them weeks/months of complaining and filing to get resolution from Samsung - usually with first a rejection under warranty. It is just not worth the trouble. I am hoping Samsung comes through to fix the issue, but it is not looking good. At this point, I'd recommend avoiding Samsung all together (believe me, I did not think that a couple of months ago - I thought they were top of the line which is why we were willing to spend so much on the tv) - the complaints I found were on Samsung brand tv's specifically. They obviously have a defect issue with the number of complaints I have seen. This is my first ever negative review and I have avoided posting anything until I gave Samsung a chance to fix the issue and after hearing that we incurred the "physical damage" and that is not covered, I have to say something and post this review - it is just not right what they are doing. I plan on filing with the BBB and joining all the consumers on the forum who have already filed with the NJ Attorney General's office.

5Picture Perfect in Ohio
By M. Van Allen
An amazing plasma TV! Wanted to upgrade from a bulky and heavy projection TV upstairs to new flat screen TV to make a media room in finished basement. Wanted latest 3D technology that wouldn't become obsolete so soon. Didn't go to local stores to view demonstration of TVs since don't know how well they are set up. Instead relied on Internet reviews posted on various models by owner of new TVs. Samsung PN58C8000 plasma recived lots of good reviews including comments on how picture didn't change with viewing angle or across screen, 600 Hz sub-field motion, deep blacks and only 1.5" thick. This was most expensive purchase we've made thru Internet & it turned out fine! Order was completed on a Tuesday morning, set was shipped Tuesday afternoon and arrived at our Ohio home that Friday morning in fine condition. Set was placed on VAS TV stand we got from local Walmart that allowed 70 degrees rotation left or right so it could be viewed at kitchen or media room. Stand that came with TV provided 20 degrees left or right rotation. Used HDMI 1.4 cables to connect Samsung 3D Blu-ray disc player BD-C6900 and cable box. Set had no noticeable buzzing with or without ferrite cores on power cord which smooth out power voltage spikes. Set was manufactured in June 2010 so buzzing reported by some earlier reviews must have since been fixed by Samsung. We have not yet used Internet to upgrade TV firmware.2D After using and testing this plasma PN58C8000 TV for over two & a half weeks, it is capable of providinig an essentially perfect picture at any angle and across screen from edge to edge. It is amazing how picture has much better detail, bolder colors, brighter screen and very sharply outlined text than older 1080i projection TV. Many adjustments can be made to picture in Mode, Advanced Settings and Options menus. Most can be left either at factory settings, Auto or changed once for viewer preference. Mode provides six pre-set picture type configurations of cell light, contrast, brightness, sharpness, color and tint(G/R) plus BD Wise configuration for Blu-ray discs playing on Samsung 3D Blu-ray player. These allow picture settings to be selected for one's preference, program source & time of day. Write down factory settings for each picture type before making any changes to them. TV remote is a nice contemporary design that allows quick access to picture Mode using Tools or Menu buttons. Samsung 3D Blu-ray disc player has inter-connectivity features of BD Wise and Anynet+ of this TV that automatically sets optimum resolution and other linked operations thru HCMI 1.4 cable. It is one-half the size of older Blu-ray players, loads discs in one-third the time and has neat contemporary touch controls with blue see-thru disc window and logo. Has built-in wireless LAN which we haven't set up yet. Provides great picture for Blu-ray and DVD Movies & is frequently bundled with Samsung 3D TVs. There are two test patterns for settings on shades or colors in Menu- Picture- Advanced Setting- Expert Patterns. But much more comprehensive HD set-up & tests are on Blu-ray disc, DVE HD Basics, available from Amazon.com. It explains how to set-up TV HD picture & Audio for optimum capabilities. HD video calibration patterns are provided for brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, resolution & geometry plus 1080p advanced video test patterns & demonstration videos. For Cal-Day picture mode, the TV was run thru video calibration & basic set-up patterns. This plasma TV passed every test pattern & could be set-up for exact reproduction of the incoming video. Setting for Cal-Day mode provided by another reviewer of this TV at Amazon.com works good and only slight changes were made for viewer preference. My settings for perfect picture reproduction in semi-dark basement are: Cell Light 10, Contrast 90, Brightness 50, Sharpness 0, Color 50, Tint 50/50. Advanced Settings- Black Tone Dark, Dynamic Contrast Low, Gamma +1, others Off or Auto. Picture Options- Color Tone Normal, Film Mode Auto 1 or Cinema Smooth (only Blu-ray 24 Hz), rest normal, Auto or Off (Motion Judder Canceller Off). Cell Light can be increased to 15 or 20 if room is bright or just want very bright picture. Note that Sharpness adds artificial edge whitness not in original video & should be set to 0 for best picture fidelity. For personal preferences may want to increase Sharpness to 20- 30 or change other settings such as Black Tone, Dynamic Contrast, Gamma, Color Tone and MJC. Any of Picture Mode Setings can be changed for viewer preference.3D Only true 3D content available at this time was 3D movies Monsters vs Aliens and Cloudy With Chance Of Meatballs released at end of June. Viewing Monsters vs Aliens was amazing with great picture depth & occasional pop-out-of-screen events. Much, much better than old eye fatiguing red/blue 3D glasses. Shutter battery operated glasses that came with Starter Kit are very light weight and comfortable. They can fit over regular glasses & operate way off-center & up to 20 ft from IR emitter on TV's lower left corner. One neighbor viewing 3D movie on this TV said it was better looking than 3D shown at movie theaters. Samsung 3D Blu-ray disc player interacts with 3D TV so the 3D movie is automatically set for 3D picture. It is very important to initially set 3D View Point to -1, factory settings of 0 or plus 1 resulted in ghosting & double background images for 3D Monsters vs Aliens movie. Access thru TV Menu- Picture- Enter- 3D- View Point. Once familiar with TV settings one can always go back to View Point & make adjustments to see what happens. For personal preference, Picture Options- Motion Judder Canceller can be set to Standard or Smooth. Picture Modes available for 3D movies are Standard, Movie & BD Wise.2D to 3D With only three clicks on remote, any incoming video from cable or Blu-ray disc player can be converted to a 3D picture. Hit 3D button, Enter & then on left double single person icon. Be sure to set focus/depth of the 3D image in Depth to 8 or 9 to give better 3D effect rather than factory setting of 4 or 5. Access thru TV Menu- Picture- Enter- 3D- Depth. 3D effect is not as deep as 3D movies & doesn't have pop-out-of-screen effects. But it gives a more realistic picture to any movie or cable program including some commercials. Like watching out of a window with background off in distance. HD programs such as entertainment & sports benefit much from conversion to 3D. Blu-ray and even DVD movies take on a nice 3D effect- particularily with foreground/deep background scenes. Avatar 2D Blu-ray movie converted to 3D was pretty awesome, especially the flying scenes. Other movies meant for 3D, such as Journey to Center of Earth, have many scenes of foreground/deep background that have good 3D effects. Animated movies like Up, Cars, etc., really benefit from 3D conversion providing more immersion & enjoyment. Flying movies like 2012, Pearl Harbor, Amelia, etc. achieve great depth in the flying scenes. The series Over America, Over California, etc., and Wing Flight (available from Amazon.com) are really awesome when flying over cities, mountains and alongside the birds. This TV was worth it just for the amazing 2D to 3D conversion of programs and movies since true 3D movies & cable programs are so few right now. It is entertaining just to review past viewed movies to see how more realistic the picture is.Audio As expected, the built-in small two speakers audio is poor, typical of flat screen TVs. It is mandatory that at least a 5.1 receiver/speaker set-up be used to get nearly the theater experience. Doesn't have to be very expensive or new system to achieve the enjoyable surround sound to go with fantastic looking movies. Samsung 3D Blu-ray disc player only has one HDMI 1.4 output, one digital optical output, analog 7.1 output & 2 Ch analog but no HCMI 1.3 output for current receivers. Newer 7.1 audio receivers have HDMI 1.4 pass-thru to TV & best Dolby & DTS capability. Otherwise a 5.1 receiver that supports lower quality Dolby Digital & DTS thru the optical connection to disc player is ok, like our 2001 audio system that can still rattle the walls. We plan to up-date to 7.1 HDMI 1.4 pass-thru system later.Summary A TV capable of giving perfect reproduction of original video at any viewing angle and can adjust many things for personal preferences of picture. 3D movies are awesome & gives occasional pop-out-of-screen effects. 2D to 3D conversion of cable programs & movies can give really nice realistic effect when have foreground with deep background- particularily flying & mountain scenes. TV is worth it just for 2D to 3D convesion. 3D glasses are comfortable & fit over regular glasses. Samsung 3D Blu-ray player is outstanding with small compact design, amazing quick disc load times & contemporary design with touch buttons & see-thru window above disc. This plasma cons are the poor audio which is universal with flat screen TVs making at least a separate 5.1 or better audio system mandatory for theater like expeience. (Didn't deduct rating for audio.) Also, this size plasma set uses 440W of power compared to 201W for old 57" projection TV & more than same size LCD flat panel TVs. But this is equivalent of only 2 more light bulbs being on and is small price to pay for exceptional picture with 3D capabilties.

4Not bad for the price
By Angie
I previously bought an LG 42LD550, used it for a few months and was quite happy with its quality, but the 42" screen size was a little too small for my living room, so I decided to get a bigger TV instead. The LD550 has better features than the LK520 -- its internet application was one thing that attracted me, but it requires an adapter which doesn't come with the TV, so I never got to test it. I guess I don't need this feature anyway, so I returned it and bought the 47" LK520, at the same price --- it was on sale on Amazon for about 7 hundred. The shipping:This model came out in March 2011, and I placed the order in April. I guess because it is relatively new, so I had to wait 4-6 weeks for the product to be shipped. So after waiting patiently for over one month, my TV finally came. I was expecting the guys from the shipping company to open the box and let me check the TV, just like what they did when I bought the other LG model. I was surprised when they told me they couldn't open the box, and that I should open it on my own, and keep the box for a year in case I need to return it. This sounds a little weird, but I signed the delivery sheet anyway. The assembling:It only took a few minutes to assemble this TV. My brother and I laid the panel on my sofa bed with the screen facing down, and secured the base/stand with a few screws. It looks like the stand was made of some cheap plastic. I hope it's more sturdy than it looks. The look:This TV has a simple, sophisticate design. I like the matt screen and the glossy black frame. There's a small blue light on the lower right corner when the TV is on. Althought the remote control is easy to use, the design looks boring and cheap, some buttons/features seem like a duplicate to me. But I guess it's not a big deal, as long as it works.Sound quality:There are several sound modes you can choose from. It was set to "standard" by default, and the volume was low, but it was much better once I switched it to "music" or "cimema". I also turned on the "surround sound" feature. Over all I am happy with the sound quality.Picture quality:I've had this TV for about two weeks now, at first I was impressed with the picture quality -- it's crisp and clear, and the color looks very nice, just like the LD550 model. I set the picture mode to "Cinema" --the "standard" mode is a bit too bright for my sensitive eyes. Of course you can create and save your own picture mode by adjusting the brightness, color, and contrast, etc. But one day I noticed the brightness on the TV screen changed suddenly --- it went darker, then after a while it went bright again (looks similar to when there are rolling clouds in the sky on a sunny day). I didn't turn on the "inteligent sensor" and I think the lighting in my room didn't change. I did not have this problem with the LD550 model. I am not sure if I got a defective item or what. Right now I give this TV a 4 star, and hoping there's an easy fix for the brightness problem. I'll test it for a few more days and decide whether I should call LG, or return it....*** UPDATE: I found out the reason that my TV would suddenly go darker is because I had the "Engergy Saver" on (it was set to "Auto"). So whenever the sensor in the TV detects a change of lighting in the room, it'll adjust the screen brightness automatically. Sometimes the screen goes so dark I can hardly see. I am not sure how much energy it can save by doing this, but I find it annoying to me, so I turned the feature off, and the problem solved! I am glad I don't have to return this TV. I am happy with my purchase so far.

4Excellent TV
By rkay48
I have had this TV for only a few days, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted. The LK520 LG model is very similar to the earlier model LD520 (highly rated), except that the dynamic contrast is apparently a bit better for the LK520(150K to 1 vs 100K), but I suspect that may not be that significant.INPUT-OUTPUTIt has sufficient inputs (HDMI, component, etc), and outputs, although I still wish these new HDTVs had a regular stereo output (ie., 2 RF outputs) so I could use them with my old amplifier. The LK520 only has 1 optical digital audio output. However, the sound from the LK520 speakers is surprisingly robust, although most will probably want more to complete the home theater experience. The LK520 also has a USB port, but I have not used this yet. The specs say you can connect your external USB devices for JPEG photos or MP3 files. (Note, this model does NOT have any internet connection capabilities--however you could hook this up to a BluRay DVD player that has this capability, if you want it).I hooked up my cable box via an HDMI cord, and the LK520 provides a clear HD picture and does well with regular SD channels also. I hooked up the TV with component inputs from my oldish DVD player, and it looked very good. (Some day I will get a BluRay, so I can see more pores, I guess, on close ups...).FEATURESThe LK520 has 120 Hz, so if you watch a lot of sports, this might be important (I don't). So maybe the 60 Hz LG LK450 might be OK for you, and save you 60-80$. However, note that the LK520 has a slightly higher dynamic contrast compared to the 60 Hz 42 inch LG LK450 (150K vs 100K).The weight is only about 35 lbs, so it is relatively easy (if a bit awkward) to carry around. Also, the screen does not seem to have any serious reflection problems in stronger lighting situations. The TV picture can be adjusted to your preferences, but I found the default settings good enough for me. It is Energy Star rated, which is good, but I found the "intelligent sensor" adjustments a bit too dark for me. However, you can adjust this as your wish.SUMMARY: I don't think you can go wrong with this excellent LG HDTV. I would rate it at 4.5 stars. Some minor limitations on audio output and the somewhat high price that I paid at a big box store (BB) made me give it a 4 instead of 5.I may update this if I find any problems later....

5PERFECT!!
By KJcool
skip intro and specs because you guys can find those anywhere onlinei read through all the reviews before i bought this TV and it helped a lot. Hopefully this would help as well. Some features are tested and here is the quick review:-120HZ TruMotion works perfectly, way better than 60HZ and other 120HZ TVs, PS3 (black-ops and Top Spin 4) and 3 1080P videos (scene, sports and concert) tested.2.4ms response time makes everything so smooth.-REALLY Stunning picture, color depth-good, brightness-good, high contrast 150,000:1 (12 HD pictures tested, each of them was at least 15 MB)-SOUND quality is better than i thought. APE format music tested (classical, rock concert, heavy metal, R&B and Pop) I thought it was gonna be the only weakness for this TV because 80% LCD TVs having bad sound quality. But it turned out that the Invisible Speakers worked pretty well, extra speakers are not needed for bedroom use unless you want to get extremely HD sound-Easy to set up. UI friendly.-HDMI works. PC-INPUT works. USB works. BTW, that USB UI is great!-Price: $659 on amazon was even cheaper than $669+tax at WalMart. two days shipping as guaranteed as always.GREAT deal over all. Couldnt be happier so far. Would recommend this product for friends. Will update if any problems pop upthis is my first product review..Thanks for reading.

A Cinema-Style Viewing Experience At Home This widescreen TV features a width-to-height ratio similar to movie theater screens, providing a theater-like experience at home. View HDTV broadcasts and widescreen DVDs the way they were meant to be seen. Crisp, Lifelike Details HDTV broadcasts and DVDs offer more detail and better color than analog broadcasts, and it takes a high-resolution display to deliver all that picture information. The high pixel count of this LCD TV provides fine detail for outstanding HDTV reproduction. More pixels also translate into less stair-stepping artifacts; curved and diagonal edges look smooth and natural. High-Quality Fast Motion Imagery Fast pixel response time is essential to accurate image reproduction on LCD displays. If the response time is too long, fast motion seen during sports broadcasts and action movies can cause blurring. This LCD TV features an impressive 14ms response speed, helping to ensure excellent detail and smooth motion during high-speed scene transitions. Great Image Quality at Wide Angles Some LCD displays require the viewer to sit within a very small sweet spot for good image quality. Move too far to the left or right and image quality drops off sharply. This LCD TV features an extremely wide viewing angle of 170°, so whether you're right in front of the TV or sitting off to the side, you'll still get great ima

5Simply delightful
By Charlie
I've had this TV for a few weeks now and have no complaints at all. I researched small to midsize LCDs and plasmas pretty thoroughly, and so far I'm very happy I went with this Panasonic. Here are a few observations on some points you're probably familiar with if you've been reading reviews and stats:LCD vs. Plasma: Some of the plasmas I saw were admittedly impressive. But for me the 42" minimum was a bit too big. And plasmas are real energy hogs: A 42-incher runs at well over 500 watts (compared with less than 150 for this LCD). That's a lot of heat to be pouring out for hours every day. Plasmas are also much more fragile. It's important to remember that LCD is a newer technology, and reviews from even a year ago may be misleading because of improvements since. That's particularly true of poor refresh rates -- not a problem with this TV.Viewing Angle: If you move to the side significantly, colors will definitely start washing out, with the effect pretty noticeable at 45 degrees or so. I can see where that might be annoying for some people, but I was aware of that aspect ahead of time, and it doesn't bother me -- I have no trouble getting the TV and my butt lined up straight. Two people at either end of a couch with the screen 7 feet away or more will not notice any color drop-off.Bad Pixels: This concerned me when I first read about LCDs, but it's been a complete non-issue. Don't know if I got lucky with a perfect screen or any dead ones are just unnoticeable, but either way, I'd say don't worry about it.Contrast & Black: Maybe plasmas and conventional CRTs do crank out marginally deeper blacks, but again, it's not an issue. The picture is bright, sharp and vivid, and you simply won't find yourself saying, "Damn, I wish those blacks were blacker."High Definition: Limiting a TV like this to standard definition is like buying a Corvette to drive around the Target parking lot. If you don't have access to HD or plan to get it soon, hold off on the purchase -- electronics all get cheaper with time anyway. But when you do go to HD, you won't be disappointed. The nature shows on Discovery HD are stunning. (BTW, most network prime-time shows and sports are available in HD now. Cable generally offers it, and Directv should beam it down by year's end; and your local network channels probably broadcast HD on UHF.)Inputs: The flexibility of the multiple inputs on the set is great. You can hook up each component separately with the best connection it can use; e.g., HDMI for a high-def receiver, component video for a DVD player and A/V plugs for a VCR.All in all, a great TV. I love it.

5So Far, So Good!!!
By alkazoo
after reading the reviews, doing some research and seeing this TV up close, i decided to go for it. That was 2 months ago...So far its lived up to expectations. Easy setup and use, i purchased the HD tier channels from my local cable company. Although only 7 HD channels available, the picture on those are unbelievable. Everything they said about HD is true...Ive always been happy with the Panasonic Name Brand in video components, along with a couple JVC items also...Im glad i bought this tv,,,,Only thing i was bummed about was the rapid price drop in the past 2 months...All the major retailers (on line or real time) now selling this tv for 400 to 600 $$ less then i paid.....oh well,, hang in there a month or 2, maybe they will be giving them away!!

5Difference between 32LX50 and32LX20
By DeeJayCee
Reprinted from [...]:It is amazing how much can change in the LCD TV industry in the blink of an eye. Less than a month ago we reviewed Panasonic's largest LCD offering, the TC-32LX20. A month later its replacement, the Panasonic TC-32LX50, is shipping. With the TC-32LX50 you'll have to blink your eyes a little faster not to miss a change in picture - the new Panasonic's response time is 14ms, beating its predecessor by a quick 2 milliseconds. Along with improved response time the replacement model includes other subtle changes to the screen. Panasonic scaled back the feature lineup on the newer model. Major changes were made to the TC-32LX20's controversial styling. We were universally impressed with both of the TVs. Picture, features, and value are all top-notch. We review the Panasonic TC-32LX20 LCD TV in-depth here, commenting on changes made in its replacement, the Panasonic TC-32LX50 LCD TV. Both TVs receive the same overall score, an impressive 95/100.The Panasonic TC-32LX20 and TC-32LX50 LCD TVs are 32-inch offerings in the VIERA line of flat panel displays. The Panasonic VIERA line is direct competition with the AQUOS line from Sharp, the LCD king. Panasonic, which is heavily invested in building plasma displays, hasn't fallen behind Sharp in the LCD race. Panasonic's highly styled TC-32LX20-era VIERA plasmas and LCDs look like TVs out of the future, while the latest generation of Panasonics, including the TC-32LX50, and Sharp LCD models are staid in appearance. Both manufacturers' lines of displays are excellent and a consumer looking for a high-end HDTV built on LCD technology can't go wrong with either. The Panasonic TC-32LX20's screen is surrounded by a dark black frame, which is in turn surrounded by silver plastic. The Panasonic TC-32LX20 LCD Television has speakers on the sides, where as the TC-32LX50's are located on the bottom. Panasonic reserves the space below the screen on the TC-32LX20 for a treasure trove of controls and inputs, including digital camera media card slots and composite RCA jacks. Panasonic lays a piece of tinted glass over the TC-32LX20's LCD screen area that overlaps the speaker bezels along the sides. The extra glass layer creates a sense of depth. The design is by no means orthodox. Like it or not, the TC-32LX20's design catches your eye and stands out from Sharp and Sony's offerings. Depending on your taste you may or may not be sad to see that for the TC-32LX50 LCD TV Panasonic went with a black frame and bottom mounted silver speakers for a more orthodox look. We suspect the TC-32LX20's radical design was Panasonic's attempt to scream for attention as it carved out early market share in the LCD market; the TC-32LX50 is gracefully styled to let you concentrate exclusively on the TV's picture, its best feature.
